چکیده
In the present study, flood hazard of Bangshi River, located in Savar Industrial Area Dhaka District, has been evaluated. The historical extent analysed from Landsat satellite images suggests that most parts study area were flooded during major events Bangladesh. flow data fitted with different analytical frequency distribution functions, and it is found Pearson III function best fits observed based on Chi-Squared statistical test. Then, model River as well surrounding floodplain was developed using HEC-RAS 1D-2D coupled hydraulic model. simulated an estimated 100-year 500-year return periods. analysis shows water level exceeds danger at nearby monitoring station years. area, devastating floods occurred years 1988 1998. maximum 9.9 m event 1988. also about 69% 58% 1998, respectively. roadways provide protection barriers western side for coming system unless road overtopped. result 68% 79% will be inundated periods, velocity period 2.31 m/s 4.52 m/s, duration same periods 32.5 days 48.95 days, depth, duration, maps can used any development activities within area. Flood hazard mapping in an urban area using combined hydrologic-hydraulic models and geospatial technologies
Flooding is one of the most occurring natural hazards every year risking the lives and properties of the affected communities, especially in Philippine context. To visualize the extent and mitigate the impacts of flood hazard in Malingon River in Valencia City, Bukidnon, this paper presents the combination of Geographic Information System, high-resolution Digital Elevation Model, land cover, so...

Today, the preparation of flood zoning maps is one of the basic and important issues in the study of development projects in the world; it is considered before any investment by the related organizations. In this paper, flood zoning was performed using the two-dimensional model HEC-RAS and GIS in order to assess the risk of the construction of a railway station near the bank of the Iranshahr Ri...
متن کاملAnalysis of Flood Hydraulic in Alluvial Fan River using CCHE2D Case Study: (Roodan River)
In this study the advantages and importance of a numerical model to predict and monitor the processes governing hydraulic changes alluvial fan river is discussed. For this reason and because of the importance of flow velocity and shear stresses resulting from the erosion of the river, A two-dimensional numerical model to simulate the CCHE2D river changes ranging from Roodan River is used. In th...

Panchromatic (PAN) satellite imagery has been used successfully in different applications such as topographic mapping and terrain modelling. Nevertheless, PAN imagery is still one of the less used digital sources for land-change studies except few processes where the high-resolution of the PAN images is used to improve the visualization quality of the multi-spectral images. This research aimed ...
